Part-Time Information Technology Intern
Summary:
The part-time IT Technician will provide daily support and back-up to the
Information Technology Department. The
position also includes providing assistance with various
technology-related projects in and outside of IT.
Focus is concentrated on outstanding performance in the areas of
customer service, security, and systems delivery.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
 | Install,
support, and troubleshoot the following:
 | Maintain hardware
inventory records and network diagrams. |
 | Software, including
Microsoft Office Suite, Symantec Anti-Virus, Novell GroupWise, and
other miscellaneous applications; |
 | Service packs,
patches, and updates; |
 | Telecommunications. |

 | Perform shared
administrative services such as:
 | Network and
telecommunications; |
 | Internal help desk; |
 | Daily
procedures; and |
 | Hardware replacement
cycle. |
|
 | Maintain hardware
inventory records and network diagrams. |
 | Monitor compliance
with technology policies. |
 | Train and educate
users on various applications, hardware, and procedures. |
 | Create and manage
computer images. |
 | Create
and update documented procedures for various tasks. |
 | Keep abreast of
technology trends in the financial service industry through attendance
at technology workshops and seminars, professional publications, and
Internet research. |
Relationships:
The part-time IT Technician reports to the Assistant Vice President,
Network Administration & Business Continuity and interacts with Bank
personnel at all department and banking center locations.
There is also contact with various third parties for support
purposes.
Qualifications:
Position
requires:
 | Enrollment in a
college degree program in computer science or a related field. |
 | Hands-on experience
with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications, computer
hardware, anti-virus software, and network fundamentals. |
 | A self-starter and a
results-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills. |
 | Excellent oral and
written communications skills. |
 | The ability to handle
multiple projects simultaneously. |
 | The ability to commit
to approximately 20 hours per week, and occasionally after-hours and
weekend work.
